Bottling Your Wine
Cleaning Your Bottles
Before you re-use those old wine bottles for your homemade wine they need to be cleaned and sanitized. The two processes are not one and the same, and each step is necessary to ensure harmful bacteria are not introduced into your winemaking process.
Avoid spoiled wine and possibly harmful germs by properly cleaning and sanitizing your wine bottles first.

Cleaning Instruction
- Soak your bottles in a bottle cleaning solution for 20 - 30 minutes.
- Use a bottle brush to remove any solid debris from the bottles.
- Rinse well to remove all traces of debris and cleaning solution from the inside of the bottles with hot water.
- Using a dishwasher to clean your bottles does nothing for the inside of the bottles (but it will make the outside sparkle!). The necks of the bottles are too small for the dishwasher to clean the inside properly.
